Chief Financial Officer sought by B Ventures USA, LLC in Santa Monica, CA.

Duties: Serve as a member of the company’s management team responsible for:

• Fundraising: Secure investment funds for the existing operations and financing of the development of the company, including identifying and negotiating equity investments from individuals and institutional investors; identifying and negotiating credit lines/equipment financing from lending sources (asset-backed, senior loans, etc.); and liaising with investors’ auditors and custodians on legal and transaction issues.
• Financial Supervision/Budgeting: Develop and implement financial operations of the company, including establishing and overseeing management reports, budgets, accounting and reporting functions; coordinating and managing the annual budgeting process and prepare detail operating monthly forecasts, per location; preparing and reviewing monthly performance statistics with senior managers and investors.
• Accounting: Plan, direct and coordinate accounting functions, including supervising monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes by establishing goals and monitoring progress against scheduled targets and by reviewing various reports to ensure data accuracy; coordinating activities with internal/external accountants and supervising the preparation of company financial statements; managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results; reviewing accounting controls and operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes; evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed; and hiring and training competent accounting and tax staff.
• Tax Matters: Lead, identify and implement best practices, including assessing and optimizing the corporation's tax structure and evaluating the tax implications of business activities; research tax implications of proposed investment and operational transactions; ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, local and foreign tax laws and regulations; reviewing tax returns and interfacing with taxing authorities, including coordinating tax audits, negotiating tax issues, filing appeals, and directing litigation; reviewing corporate tax returns and year-end tax accruals; and overseeing reporting and payment of all local, state and federal taxes.
• Management: Identify and hire outside consultants and advisors (e.g., legal, accounting, real estate, tax, strategy). Review service contracts, partnership and limited liability company agreements, as well as other documents and recommends changes as necessary; negotiate joint-venture agreements, lease agreements and employment contracts. Review and negotiate real estate leases. Develop and monitor business performance metrics; research and analyze specific industry trends; and identify and implement cost-saving strategies and procedural/organizational efficiencies.

Requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field, plus three (3) years of financial analysis, investment banking or related experience, developing plans and strategies for fundraising, acquisitions, mergers, debt restructuring, and business restructuring/cost-cutting; advising on business development, investment and tax optimization strategies; structuring and executing complex equity investment transactions, involving equity recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts, or similar actions; managing investment sourcing and due diligence; and developing financial models and asset (portfolio) allocation strategies.
